WAsP (Wind Atlas Analysis and Application Program) is a professional software tool for wind resource assessment and wind farm siting, developed by Risø National Laboratory in Denmark (now part of DTU Wind Energy). It implements the Wind Atlas methodology and linearized flow modeling to predict wind climates and energy production at prospective sites, using inputs such as meteorological mast data, digital elevation and contour maps, surface roughness maps, and obstacle descriptions. WAsP accounts for terrain effects, roughness changes, and sheltering to transfer observed wind conditions to new locations. It supports micro-siting and wind farm layout design with wake loss calculations and annual energy production estimates for specified turbines. Widely used by developers, consultants, and researchers for both onshore and offshore projects, WAsP helps streamline feasibility studies, prospecting, and optimization from flat to moderately complex terrain.

WAsP is developed by Risø National Laboratory, Danmark and is used by 3 users of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 9.1, 10.0, 10.1, 10.2 and 11.1. The names of program executable files are ChangeDisplay.exe, Winson.exe, WaspTurbineEditor.exe, WAsPMapEditor9.exe and WAsPMapEditor11.exe. Works with tab, lib, rwc, pow, wph and wrr file types.
